Would this be any > indication about my BIOS? That's a pretty good indication that your BIOS supports booting beyond the 504 MB limit. There are other limits, though (1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB; for some reason, they missed the opportunity with 16 GB). The only way I know to find out if you're affected by one of these is to try it.
