And it turns out the apache problem was just my old friend 'unable to
gethostbyname', which should be expected given that I'm using DHCP.

It's ironic how I can struggle with these problems for hours by myself,
and then minutes after I ask the list I figure it out.  Apologies for
wasted bandwidth.
