To: questions@freebsd.org (freebsd) Date: Wed, 2 Aug 1995 17:13:03 +0200 (MET DST) X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4 PL24] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Sender: questions-owner@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk Hi ! I bought a cheap NE2000 clone (8bit card) without documentation and software. Now I want to know, how the bar with the switches must be configured and how to configure the 4 bars with the jumpers. 2 Jumper bars are for DMA/IRQ (both 8 jumpers). But the rest ? Also, I never installed such a card. The manual told me that I have to configure the card as ed0. ed1 would be another card ? What else I have to do ? ifconfig ? arp ? By the way, I want to make my own terminators, can anybody help me with the specifications of a BNC-ether-terminator ? How many ohms ? Thanx a lot ! Bye, Udo P.S.: I only found ONE newsgroup in the USENET (comp.dcom.lans.ethernet), is there anything similar in german ? Because there came nothing back, I tried it here. I hope you're not too angry about it. :-) -- Udo Wolter, email: uwp@cs.tu-berlin.de & uwp@hydmech.fb12.tu-berlin.de, www: http://www.cs.tu-berlin.de/~uwp/ !!!
