The following works for me.

In /etc/make.conf:
BOOT_COMCONSOLE_SPEED= 115200

In /etc/ttys:
# The 'dialup' keyword identifies dialin lines to login, fingerd etc.
ttyd0   "/usr/libexec/getty std.115200" vt100   on  secure

In /etc/remote:
# Finger friendly shortcuts
sio0|com1:dv=/dev/cuaa0:br#115200:pa=none:
sio1|com2:dv=/dev/cuaa1:br#115200:pa=none:

I have two machines with serial consoles running on com1. They are
cross-connected such that com2 of one machine is connected to com1 of the
other. Thus, I can "tip com2" on one machine to connect to the other's
serial console. As such, I believe only the com2 line in /etc/remote is
required.
