After many de/reinstalls on teTeX and various packages I had a thought:
"What if my old TEXINPUTS variable is inherited when I su to root to
build/install ports?"  What happens is jadetex does NOT build.

So, in future (is there a FAQ) when installing these packages make sure
you don't have any old TEX environment variables set.
