Did the floppy work in the past? Does the system recognize the floppy at boot up? If you put a floppy in the drive upon bootup would it boot from that floppy? The host name is stored in rc.conf. There is a line which says "hostname=xxx.xxx.xxx" Just change that line. You can also change the name of the machine on the fly, by using the "hostname" command.
