-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- This morning, on my 2.2.5-RELEASE system, I noticed some very weird kernel messages that I've never seen before: FIOASYNC (A WHOLE LOT of messages that just say "FIOASYNC", then) timeout flushing dbuf_out.chan, cnt 0x4ac flags 0x00000641 I grepped /usr/src/sys for these messages, but oddly enough, couldn't find them (unless my grep command was not constructed properly). I just (well, a week ago) installed a new disk in this FreeBSD machine. It is a Maxtor DiamondMax 4.2GB UltraDMA33 drive, and is my primary master (wd0). It contains a FreeBSD partition (pretty big, about 3.5 GB) and a Linux ext2 and Linux swap partition (these take up the rest). This sytem also has another disk, an Western Digital Caviar 2.1GB EIDE drive, it is secondary master (wd2). It has my FreeBSD swap partition, and also has Win95 installed on it. I also have a Jaz disk and a CD-ROM hanging off of an Adaptec AHA-2940AU controller. Does this message mean anything? More specifically, does it mean that one (possibly more) of my disks are going bad? Which ones? Please cc your responses by email <dburr@POBoxes.com> if you can. TIA for any help you can offer. - --- Donald Burr <dburr@POBoxes.com> - Ask me for my PGP key | PGP: Your WWW HomePage: http://DonaldBurr.base.org/ ICQ #1347455 | right to Address: P.O.
