It used to boot a.out kernels but has been retired, and won't be included in any more releases after 4.1. This has been discussed before; check the mail archives, I remember them saying that booting ELF kernels from DOS is a whole other ball of wax, is very difficult and won't be supported anytime in the near future. -Paul.
