I recall a discussion a while ago where the result was that I was going to work on importing (among other things) libwrap and pidentd and get it over and done with. At the time, the main objections seemed to be the compile-time -DPARANOID option. That's not a problem any more since paranoid mode is also able to be activated as a run-time option.
