I've built a customized kernel and everything was going fine so now I have new kernel in / directory as well as kernel.old & kernel.GENERIC(actually they are the same ones). But after shutting down the system I'm not able to boot with my new kernel. I get the message: "Invalid format"(of kernel I guess). So I type /kernel.old or /kernel.GENERIC and the system loads this old kernel. Now I deleted the new(customized) kernel and copied old kernel.GENERIC to /kernel file. But I get the same error message!!! It seems that system agrees to load only original kernel.GENERIC and kernel.old files, even now when /kernel file is the same as kernel.GENERIC and kernel.old. I work for several years with 2.XX versions of FreeBSD and have never encounter such problem. Please help me with advice how to solve the problem. Thanks, Igor Ignatovich.
