Since emacs21 or former version does not support unix domain socket in elisp itself, icanna helps the elisp application to interact with Canna server by relaying data between standard input/output and unix domain socket. Originally, this program was included in a ports japanese/yc.el, but the latest versoin of yc.el (ver 5.0.0) no longer includes it. However, users of old emacsen still need this program to use yc.el via UNIX domain socket for communication with Canna server.
