Personal experience here; damn good. It objects to files that have been saved with the "fast file save" option in WordXXX, but turn that off and the document is 1/2 the size and imports fine. At FreeBSDCon, I chatted to one of the Applix folk, and apparently they will put (already have?) import filter updates on their site.
