Well, this is an issue which is bound to keep coming up, because people keep getting burned by various stale files which are left behind during the upgrade process. I haven't been following this new thread (until just now), but it happens that I haven't been following it because I've been putting a little time into coming up with some initial lists of stale files. All I am doing is comparing clean installs of 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6.2, and 4.7 to a clean install of 5.0-dp2 (all on i386), and checking what has changed. I have not been thinking about any good way to keep this up-to-date. I just wanted to see if I could come up with some helpful solution for all the people who may soon be upgrading from 4.x to 5.0-release. I'm way past overtired at this point, but I'll write up some more after I get a chance to catch up on my sleep... -- Garance Alistair Drosehn = gad@gilead.netel.rpi.edu Senior Systems Programmer or gad@freebsd.org Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute or drosih@rpi.edu To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
