I'm moving from Linux to FreeBSD and I have an S3 Trio3D card. According to the XFree website this should be supported. Under Linux running XFree 3.3.5 I was able to run it at 1024*740 24bpp. I have cloned the setup under FreeBSD (XFree 3.3.6) and it will not start the X server at all. I have made sure that I have all the XF libs installed and I am using XF86Setup. I have also tries XF86Config but to no better result. I tried a little experiment, I installed Mandrake 7.0 which also has XFree 3.3.6 and it would not run either. I hope that someone can help. thanks Andrew To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-newbies" in the body of the message
