My maillog file filled up with error messages saying: pr 25 20:25:30 itchy sendmail[1286]: gethostbyaddr(206.205.132.204) failed: 1 Apr 25 20:25:30 itchy sendmail[1286]: gethostbyaddr(206.205.132.214) failed: 1 Apr 25 20:25:30 itchy sendmail[1286]: gethostbyaddr(206.205.132.216) failed: 1 Apr 25 20:25:30 itchy sendmail[1286]: gethostbyaddr(206.205.132.219) failed: 1 Apr 25 20:25:30 itchy sendmail[1286]: gethostbyaddr(206.205.132.220) failed: 1 Apr 25 20:25:30 itchy sendmail[1286]: gethostbyaddr(206.205.132.224) failed: 1 Apr 25 20:25:31 itchy sendmail[1286]: gethostbyaddr(206.205.132.226) failed: 1 and any mail originating locally but going out failed with a "Relaying denied" error. I'm running FreeBSD 2.1-STABLE and sendmail 8.8.7. The weird thing is that the IP addresses being looked up DO NOT exist. These are dialup customers whose IP addresses are dynamically assigned from ranges: 206.205.132.30 - 206.205.132.119 Most of the addresses above .118 are unused. Any ideas where the problem might be, or a workaround? Any ideas? To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message
