Yes - I have a 5150ES, it works fine for my backups... My only problem in running it has been a slightly questionable SCSI cable... it works like a champ. I put it in it's own external box for moving around... the SCSI-3 <-> SCSI-2 cable I'm using has a transient short in it; so I have to "jiggle" the cable every now and then... other than that; things work great! Older versions of FreeBSD had issues with the aha2940 (I didn't notice which SCSI controller you head) which were fixed in later versions.
