Didn't you ask this exact same question on questions@FreeBSD.org on Feb 21st
this same year ?

As someone suggested in the long thread you kicked off there, if it really
bothers you please go through the commit logs, find the person who wrote the
stuff you're unhappy with, and ask them.  Please don't rehash the discussion
here.
