Just tried -current (as of 18/5) with 2 x P5/133 on a Gigabyte 586 DX MB, and tried a kernel with the following options added: # SMP kernel config file options: options SMP # Symmetric MultiProcessor Kernel options APIC_IO # Symmetric (APIC) I/O options NCPU=2 # number of CPUs options NBUS=2 # number of busses options NAPIC=1 # number of IO APICs options NINTR=21 # number of INTs ... as recommended in http://www.freebsd.org/~fsmp/SMP/mptable/t13 (Steve's development machine entry, except that the kernel refuses to compile if I comment out APIC_IO, like it says in the URL). The kernel boots, probes, and crashes right before init, and drops in ddb. Trace give me something about some scsi error (sorry, I'm at the office now, don't have the output and it's my home machine)... Something concerning the on-board 2940 ? (7880 UW chip). Machine has 48 Mb, NCR 53c810, 2940UW on board, Diamond 968 2Mb. -- -- Phil -[ Philippe Regnauld / Systems Administrator / regnauld@prosa.dk ]- -[ Location.: +55.4N +11.3E PGP Key: finger regnauld@hotel.prosa.dk ]-
