I just got done installing X-windows on my new computer, but it won't run.

I start X by typing "xinit /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc"

It starts to load, then it gives me this message:
"XF86OpenConsole /dev/kbd (Device not configured)"

I looked in /dev but there wasn't a /dev/kbd, so I created one using mknod. I created it with the same settings as on a friend of mine. I tried it again, but it still won't load.
