]I'm currently switching to FreeBSD from Linux and today I installed
]FreeBSD 3.3 on one of my computers which has a ES 1371 soundcard. How
]do I add that card to the kernel configurationa and is it even inclueded
]in 3.3 or do i have to get 3.4 or 4.0?

i was in a similar situation... i don't know about 3.3, but i was running
3.4 a few days ago... it would detect the card, but there was no sound.
[3.4 worked fine with my old sound card [a sb16 value]]

so i upgraded to 4.0... it works great [actually, all i really do with
the card is play mp3's... it works great for that... i don't know about
other uses =].
