As this is a ugly hack and abuse of the meaning of those variables by some misbehaving packages, this behaviour needs to be removed from sysinstall and those packages need to be fixed. Unless anyone can come up with a very good reason to keep those variable present in sysinstall, I will remove them very soon. If you have a port that depends on this, please get your fixes is RSN.
