Well, on the good side, Warren, my firewall is now working. Even if defined open. A step at a time, right? I checked rc.conf and usb is already enabled. I thought I might have forgotten that. Checked the bios and usb is supported and engaged. Dmesg does not say anything about specified ports as lpt might. Just this usb0: OHCI version 1.0, legacy support usb0: SMM does not respond, resetting usb0: <OHCI (generic) USB controller> on ohci0 usb0: USB revision 1.0 Perhaps I have a misconfigured jumper on the motherboard?
