This will disallow the user to 'cd ..' by making their homedir appear as 'cd /'. That should be all you need to do; we just place all our webhosting customers into a group called 'webhost', our /etc/ftpchroot files looks like this, (only two lines): @webhost @shlhost Thus, every user who is a memmber of the groups webhost, and shlhost, (shell accounts), is limited to their home-directory only via ftp.
