History repeats itself... Ok.

1. I dislike "_" as path delimiter. It's not so obvious and aesthetic as
"::" or "%".

2. Related paragraph in "Porter's Handbook - 4.4 Patching" is a
suggestion, not a rule.

3. I vote for /^[-.a-zA-Z0-9_:+%]+$/ regex.
