Many of the @Home networks which use DCHP require the host-name parm be sent before the server will send back IP info... I wasn't able to get DCHP to work on the install, (foR @home) but dchp did work once I was able to configure dhclient.conf correctly... Now if the install process would allow for the inclusion of DCHP parms before issuing the DHCP query... This won't solve your problem, but may explain why it's not working.
