I don't think they will make it into 2.2. They're pretty radical changes that haven't seen time in the main -current tree (?) for a while and thus haven't been rigorously tested. Hopefully we'll see a BETA here pretty soon that will pretty much be what you'll see in the -RELEASE. I'm running 2.2-ALPHA on this box and it's as solid as a rock.
