I've tested this on FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE-p7 with an Alcatel IK41VE. This mo=
dem
is in permanent MBIM mode, no mode switch required. If it's already plugged=
 in
before power on, the kernel panics during boot. If it's not plugged in, the
system boots normally. When the modem is then hot-plugged, the system crash=
es
and reboots within seconds.

I have several of these LTE modems and would gladly send one to whomever wa=
nts
to work on this.
