Using open source for a commercial product which you modify and customize is not the same as making the source available for others to modify and distribute at will. I dont see how proving the microsoft uses open source code in their product proves that open source is generally good for commercial products or corporate interests. All it proves is that open source has some value as a base for more s, which I dont think that anyone, including Microsoft, disagrees with.
