I'm having some odd problems with X and was wondering if anyone could give
me any suggestions at what to look at. I have a freshly installed
4.0-Release and I installed XFree86 from the ports tree. I configured it to
use an a Geforce 256 DDR (generic). My card is actually an Asus card, so
that's one thing that may be causing problems.

I also used the exact monitor configuration from my monitors manual. I
don't have that exact information here as I'm at work, but it's an Acer
monitor. Exact statistics provided upon request.

When I first started X I believe by default it runs .. erm, twm. It seems
to work alright unless I switch between a console and back to X. When I do
that I have this graphical garbage on my screen. I can get rid of it by
moving the windows around and forcing those sections of the screen to
redraw.

Since twm was (mostly) working, I installed mozilla. Mozilla will start,
but the first window (the one that prompts you about profile information) is
a grey box with a white box on top of it. I can't see the text or buttons
(but I can click them.)

I tried switching window managers and I have simalair problems with each. I
can not see, at all, what's happening with enlightenment. I tried something
simple again like fvwm95 and all the icons are completely black.

Any suggestions or pointers to documentation I've missed would be wonderful.

Jonathan
