When the defaultroute is not removed , the server can access internet, but the client via ppp can't receive any packets. My company has a router and the ip of the defaultroute is set to the route. Do you mean that the ppp server should do the routing and not to set defaultroute in /etc/rc.conf ?? I have no knowledge about tcpdump, but I will try to read through the man pages.
