Thanks, I got the files and recompiled my generic kernel and its 
recognized in my dmesg now.
however if anyone has any info on how this card stacks up to others i 
would be interested. if i can get a better/faster card just by spending 
a few extra $ i probably would. (this one only cost me $12)
