SCSI gets better performance in multidrive systems. Buying several
small SCSI drives and building a software raid system will provide
better performance than 1 drive - and SCSI is the only way to go for
that.

You might also want to check the softupdates thread on -stable (I
think that's it). Getting an IDE drive into a reliable configuration
may be problematical, but see the thread if you're worried about
reliability.
