I also am seeing no such problems with the port.  Certainly the configure
error log would suggest that something is seriously wrong, yet if
gnomedb were broken, there would be howls of protest given its position
in the GNOME dependency chain.

Please update your OS and ports and try again, reporting back here.  Thanks.
