[-- Attachment #1 --] Good afternoon, I have created two floppies using the following command: fdimage ker.flp a: fdimage mfsroot.flp a: Then, I copied all the files from \freebsd\release-3.1\bin to my DOS partition keeping the same directory structure. Then, I boot the PC with the 1st floppy and insert the 2nd floppy in the drive when I am asked. Then I create a native BSD partition marked Freebsd, create the other partitions like /root, /swap ane etc. From the menu, I choose DOS Partition as the media to install the software from but the system can not find the /bin, /swap, manpages, etc on my partitio! I have one disk and have 2 NTFS partitions and a fat partition. Prior to booting the pc with 1st floppy that I created above, I made the FAT partition my active partition. as soon as I boot the pc with the 1st floppy, the native BSD partition becomes active! Is it okay? If yes, then why can it not find the /bin, /manpages, etc on my FAT partition? I am really frustrated as I do not understand why it can not find the data on my FAT partition. can someone please help? Thanking you in advance for your help. Many regards, Hasan Ghodrati [-- Attachment #2 --] <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD W3 HTML//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META content=text/html;charset=iso-8859-1 http-equiv=Content-Type> <META content='"MSHTML 4.72.2106.6"' name=GENERATOR> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>Good afternoon,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>I have created two floppies using the following command:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>fdimage ker.flp a:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>fdimage mfsroot.flp a:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>Then, I copied all the files from \freebsd\release-3.1\bin to my DOS partition keeping the same directory structure.
