it is not uncommon for ISP to change the name of their DNS server or
its IP address.  check your bind conf for hard coded items.

I forgot to ammend:

Because of this, I have these problems:

1. I cannot make SSH connections
2. I cannot connect to certain FTP sites
3. My reverse DNS lookup isn't working
