Gunnar H Reichert-Weygold <patron1_nospam@paganlibrary.com> types: > Is there a stats package for FreeBSD similar to Minitab? Based on a quick trip to the minitab site, I suspect the answer is no. Minitab is a monolithic system that does a lot more than just statistics. Such things are antithetical to the Unix way of doing things. If all you want is part of what Minitab does, you might describe what you need and how you'd like it done, and someone may be able to help. On the other hand, there are a dozen or so stats packages of various kinds in the ports tree, and you should be able to check on those yourself pretty easily. The stats package I know of that best fits the Unix way of doing things is Pearlman's |STAT package, which compiles out of the box on FreeBSD. I've got an out-of-date port for it I could probably be talked into submitting again if someone wanted it. <mike -- Mike Meyer <mwm@mired.org> http://www.mired.org/home/mwm/ Independent WWW/Perforce/FreeBSD/Unix consultant, email for more information.
