The in-kernel ntfs implementation formerly published as part of the base system is officially dead and has been removed from 10.0. Time is due to remove all those pr's targeted at the in-kernel base version of ntfs. 71774, 73484, 80088, 97377, 99290, 103035, 114847, 118107, 120482, 120483, 136873, 133265 http://svnweb.freebsd.org/base/head/sbin/Makefile?view=log&pathrev=247665 States; "Disconnect non-MPSAFE NTFS from the build in preparation for dropping GIANT from VFS. This code is particularly broken and fragile and in-kernel implementations found in other operating systems, don't really seem clean and solid enough to be imported at all. If someone wants to reconsider in-kernel NTFS implementation for inclusion again, a fair effort for completely fixing and cleaning it up is expected. In the while NTFS regular users can use FUSE interface and ntfs-3g port to work with their NTFS partitions."
