I had to do the same thing over here to get my tv back . It is kind of 
hard to live without the tuner support 8)

Glad that the fix is working for you and I suspect that I am fairly
close to wrapping up system freezes and dead tvs. When Louis
problem gets resolved I think we will be all set at least from
system instability problems. Please folks if you have any
instability problems don't hesitate to report them.

Next whomever submits patches to the bt848 related stuff (and I am
not pointing out fingers to anyone) please try to submit the patches
to the list first before committing them . Is not a big issue right
now;however, it is a good habit to get into due to the variety of 
bt848 hardware out there and the possibility that a change may break
the support for a particular PCI chipset.

As for Steve he is doing a fantastic job!
