Does anyone have any good links or other materials for file permissions, I understand the basics, but for some reason I can't seem to graps how to correctly set directory/group/file permissions within a sort period of time... :) Like today, I wanted to do a simple task of allowing 2 users access to one directory, I want UserA & Userb to be able to rw in a directory, but I want UserA to be able to edit Userb's files(all files in directory),and Userb can only read UserA files, and not make any changes, but still add new files. I kept getting "override permissions?" while deleting files, even though files were rw-r--r--, and were deleted, not what I wanted(I changed the owner of the directory and solved problem). I guess I need some resources that define how files are treated based on the permissions of the parent directory and user/group interaction. Any recommendations?.. Ugh...Head Hurts! Jonathan E.
