Right, when you install on the SyJet, choose the entire disk, but remain compatible with other OS's (I phrased that a little wrong but it will be clear when you install). That handles the geometry problems, so it will boot. Next, it will ask you if you want the FreeBSD boot manager, the standard MBR or do nothing.
