Actually, perl 5.00502 is in -current right now.  There were some build
issues, but you'd have to ask Mark Murray about them (I note that building in
/usr/ports/lang/perl5 in -current fails).  It probably will not end up in
-stable (at least not before there is a 3.0.0-"stable" :-).
