Is this usual behaviour for this drive? Seems strange. I thought > async stuff was old hat? > Cheers. > I have a Yamaha 400t CD-R (one year old). Booting 2.2.7-STABLE: ahc0:A:6: refuses WIDE negotiation. Using 8bit transfers ahc0:A:6: refuses synchronous negotiation. Using asynchronous transfers (ahc0:6:0): "YAMAHA CDR400t 1.0i" type 5 removable SCSI 2 I think that sync transfers are not important with this type of SCSI devices. BTW, my Yamaha CD-R works flawlessly. -- JMA ----------------------------------------------------------------------- José Mª Alcaide | mailto:jose@we.lc.ehu.es Universidad del País Vasco | http://www.we.lc.ehu.es/~jose Dpto. de Electricidad y Electrónica | Facultad de Ciencias - Campus de Lejona | Tel.: +34-946012479 48940 Lejona (Vizcaya) - SPAIN | Fax: +34-944858139 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Go ahead... make my day." - H.
