Also, "kernel" above doesn't equal `size kernel` - there are disk buffers, mbufs, stacks, and whatnot which are allocated on start; so its much bigger. > Also have you trimmed down the kernel? If you mean "stripping" - yes. What I forgot to add (sorry...) is that I'm primarily interested in situations where there is no swap. This usually means there is no disk and there is a MFS taking its sweet portion of RAM...
