https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D254251 Bug ID: 254251 Summary: archivers/bzip2: remove as this is part of base system since FreeBSD 4.4 Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: delphij@FreeBSD.org CC: jharris@widomaker.com Flags: maintainer-feedback?(jharris@widomaker.com) CC: jharris@widomaker.com bzip2 became part of FreeBSD base system since 4.4-RELEASE (September 2001), almost 20 years ago, and there is no other ports depending on archivers/bzi= p2. The port system expects /usr/bin/bzip2 and expects base system tar to recog= nize it; bzip2 1.0.7 introduced a quite visible regression with decompression, a= nd the port wasn't updated for 2 years, so I believe there is no real users of= it and the port should be removed. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
