In my case I have a VIA sound card which gets correctly probed, and all looks well when I cat /dev/sndstat. In fact everything seems find except not a peep comes out of the speakers (tested against cdplay and x11amp). I've cranked the mixer settings all up to 100, so that isn't the explanation. For what its worth I've attached the dmesg and sndstat outputs. g. -- Dr Graham Wheeler E-mail: gram@cequrux.com Director, Research and Development WWW: http://www.cequrux.com CEQURUX Technologies Phone: +27(21)423-6065 Firewalls/VPN Specialists Fax: +27(21)424-3656 --------------82AFAAC65DB1A765369C0502 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; name="a1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="a1" Copyright (c) 1992-2000 The FreeBSD Project.
