The cdrom drive is OK ... I put it back in it's original server and installed linux there. I'm 99% sure now that I damaged my freebsd CD sometime after I last used it. Since the newer server needs it's own cdrom anyway, I'll just be lazy and order one, then see how it goes. Thanks for your comments! --=20 Mark
