Hi. I have a situation which may or may not be a problem. Here's my ip configuration: nge0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 192.168.1.24 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255 inet6 fe80::204:5aff:fe59:64f9%nge0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x2 ether 00:04:5a:59:64:f9 media: Ethernet autoselect (1000baseTX <full-duplex>) status: active nge1: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 192.168.1.25 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255 inet6 fe80::204:5aff:fe59:5497%nge1 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x3 ether 00:04:5a:59:54:97 media: Ethernet autoselect (1000baseTX <full-duplex>) status: active I've been monitoring net traffic with tcpdump. Most traffic is SMB and NMB. Tcpdump reports a very high dropped:received packet ratio. For example, a few second of capture during peak traffic returns: 34964 packets received by filter 34085 packets dropped by kernel Should I be concerned? I'll include full tcpdumps on both interfaces if necessary. Thanks for your time. David Smithson http://www.frozboz.org http://www.customfilmeffects.com
