Hello,
The best book(s) on the subjecta are:
Unix Shell Programming (revised) by Stephen Kochan & Patrick Wood
ISBN:0-672-48448-X
and as a complement sed & awk 2nd Ed. by Dale Dougherty & Arnold Robbins
ISBN:1-56592-225-5
Why sed & awk you ask? Well I write alot of scripts and I'd say I use either
sed or awk (or both) in 90% of all my scripts. They are really essential
when writing scripts as you tend to need to manipulate text strings in many
scripts. Hope this helped.
