The problem really seems to be one of the (or maybe even both, even the LinkSys!) NICs in the FreeBSD machines. No wonder, the RealTek card is a cheap piece of crap (around EUR 6), I am going to replace it with something more reliable. Any recommendations? Is there a card with Really Good(TM) driver implementation for FreeBSD? Anything one would use in a production server (we use 3com cards almost exclusively at work, although mostly in Linux servers)? Anyway, thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it! Andreas -- Andreas "daff" Ntaflos | "A cynic is a man who knows the price of daff AT dword DOT org | everything, and the value of nothing."
