Hi, I hope your not upset w/ a novice asking a question but I could really use some help regarding the installation/configuration of BSD. I am a home pc user interested in running BSD for home use alongside Windows 98. My original setup was Windows 98 on my 9G hard drive (FAT 32-IDE). Using Partition Magic, I created a second 1.5G primary partition (FAT) in front of the FAT32. I'd like to use the 1.5G for the BSD OS. My problem comes after I boot into the FAT partition w/ the kern/mfsroot disks during the configuration process (before actually installing the dist files from the CDROM). For some reason, after assigning the 1.5G partition as Freebsd in the fdisk menu, I am unable create the file systems (root, user, and swap space)in the disk label menu. I receive the message that the disk space is too large. This also happens after resizing the partition to less than 500M. I can get around this problem if I just use the entire disk(all 9G's) which I obviously don't want to do because I'd like to run multiple OS's. I'm pretty convinced I'm doing something wrong in setting up my disk to install BSD and would GREATLY appreciate any help you could extend. I'm anxious to use BSD but would like to be able to do it w/o running it off a separate hard drive. Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to help out an inexperienced newbie..
